MARCH FOR BABIES

Caleb and I (and Darrin if he doesn't have to work) are signed up to walk in the March of Dimes March for Babies. It is a four mile walk to raise money for the March of Dimes. For those of you who may not be familiar with the March of Dimes, it is an organization dedicated to improving the health of babies, preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We feel it is a very worthy cause and we are excited to lend our support. If you are interested in walking with us or making a donation, please see the link at the right side of our blog.

Still a Moose...

Well, we took Caleb in for his fourth month appointment the other day, and the doctor thought the nurse must have put down a height measurement for his weight....until she saw him. At which point, she again said "Wow! He's a moose!" Needless to say, he's off the charts with his weight and almost off the chart with his height. We're just glad that he's happy and healthy. He got his second round of vaccinations, which none of us liked, but he's a champ and did well. The doctor is having us start him on some solid foods, which is exciting. Developmentally, he's doing well....he can bring his hands together, grasp and reach for objects and toys, control his head, and he's getting close to rolling over. We are so grateful for him everyday!

Spring is Finally Here!!!!

Finally, the weather is getting nicer and nicer. I am so grateful for that so Caleb and I can get out of the house more. We all took advantage of the warm weather last weekend and took Caleb for his first outing at the park. We went up to Tipton Park and spent a wonderful evening walking and tried out the swings and the slide with Caleb. He was not near as excited as Darrin and I.

Happy Easter!!!

Easter blessings to everyone! We had a wonderful first Easter with Caleb. We started off the day with church....Caleb was quite the "dapper" little man as you can see. He did very well during the service, sleeping through the majority of it. Afterwards, we went to my parents' house for a delicious meal, dying eggs, and an Easter egg hunt. The egg hunt, was actually for the grown up kids (myself, Darrin, my brother Pat, and my sister Michaela). It always is quite competitive, especially since there's money involved! Unfortunately, I was not the winner...my brother Pat took that honor. Caleb got an Easter basket full of John Deere goodies, including his first (of many) John Deere T-shirt. Overall, it was a terrific day filled with fun and family.

Caleb's First Big Trip

Caleb made his first 15 hour drive to Northwestern Kansas over Spring Break. He was a real trooper being in the car for two days both ways. We had a great time. Caleb got to meet his Grandpa Garry (Darrin's dad) and Aunt Kim (Darrin's sister) for the first time, and he got to see Grandma Deanna (Darrin's mom) again. We also had the pleasure of introducing Caleb to many of my extended family members as well. During our time in Kansas, Caleb got to experience 40 mph winds along with snow, got to drive on his first dirt roads, and see cows and calves for the first time. What more could a little boy want! We did have a couple of nice days while we were there, so we did get to spend a little time outdoors. It was a great time, but it felt good to get home and back to our routine.

What a rough life!

Best Birthday Ever!

It was such a blessing to celebrate my 28th birthday this year with Caleb!!! We waited a long time, and we are so grateful to have Caleb in our lives. It was by far the best birthday I've had! God is good!!!!

Enjoying the nice weather...

It seems like winter dragged on and on, but Caleb and I are finally getting a chance to enjoy some time outside of the house. We like to go on long walks around Cicero and enjoy the fresh air!
