HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!

It's hard to believe that a whole year has passed since Caleb was born! He has changed so much since last year. We are so blessed! Caleb had a couple celebrations for his birthday, and he got the most out of both of them. His first party was the weekend before his Birthday. Unfortunately, the day before his party, he came down with pink eye and an ear infection, and he already had a cold. Amazingly enough, after he started some antibiotics, he was in good spirits for his party. We had several good friends up to our house to celebrate his First Birthday Party. It was a good time with food, family, and friends! Then on Caleb's actual Birthday my parents came up for dinner, and Caleb got to open more gifts!

Waking up as a 1 year old!

Ready for a Birthday breakfast.

Caleb got John Deere scoop tractor, John Deere sand bucket and shovel from his Great Aunt Shirley, Great Uncle Keith, and second cousins Tanner and Trevor. He discovered that the shovel makes a great drum stick and the bucket will amplify your voice when you yell into it. He loves driving the tractor around (definitely his daddy's boy)!

Opening his birthday gift from mom and dad - sitting on it seemed to be even more fun than actually opening it!

We got him a pop up tent with a tunnel that connects to it. It was a big hit. Caleb spent the evening crawling in and out and through it and playing peek-a-boo with dad.

Happy Birthday!

Surprise, surprise, he had a "farm" themed party!

Celebrating with Aunt Michaela! Michaela helped put together Caleb's party and she gave a Caleb a rocking chair just his size that she painted green and yellow (for John Deere and the Green Bay Packers) with his name on it. He climbed right in when he saw it.

Caleb's lamb cake. This cake has been a tradition in the Popp family (my mom's family) for a long time. My grandmother made it for her kids on their First Birthday's and then all of the grandkids had it for their First Birthday's and now the great grandkids are getting to have it too!

Caleb had oodles of presents to open. He has figured out the unwrapping thing and really enjoys it. His attention span started to wane after the first few gifts, but he got them all open.

What's Inside?

Our good friend Sharon gave a Caleb a "C" ornament on top of his present, and it was one of his favorite things all day. He carried it around with him. We even had to take it away and hide it so he would open the rest of his gifts!

Playing with his rocker.

Yay! It's a tractor!

Caleb got two Fisher Price Nativity Sets too! He's a lucky kid because when we went to return one of them, we found out that it's one of the "hot" Christmas items this year, and it's sold out just about everywhere. The salesman said there is one for sale on Ebay right now going for $150.00!

Make a wish!

Mmmm....cake! Caleb was not really fond of the cake and frosting itself, but it was fun to play in!

The fork was more fun than the cake!

There were going to be about 5 kids at the party originally, but they ended up not being able to come, so our friend Ellie had the pinata all to herself!

What a great party!

Off to Iowa...

Well, we were hiome from Green Bay, roughly a day and a half before we took off to Iowa to meet up with Darrin's family for Thanksgiving. Caleb did not enjoy the drive. Darrin and I took turns driving and managed to keep our sanity. Caleb had a ball in Iowa with the Roberts clan, especially his cousins Beau and Mackenzie. Mackenzie was even nice enough to help with poopy diapers! Caleb has also discovered the joys of unwrapping gifts and had some good practice for his upcoming Birthday party. He enjoyed Thanksgiving too. We let him try turkey, and he ate it as fast as I could put it on his tray - he's getting to be more like is mama everyday! =)

Caleb thought the unwrapping was more fun than what was inside

"What am I supposed to do with this?" Caleb was not sure about the cake and getting messy!

Our little travelin' man

Go Pack Go!!!

This year we took our annual "pilgrimage" to Green Bay and Caleb got to join in the fun. We even took the tour of Lambeau Field again, so that Caleb could see the Eighth Wonder of the World! Caleb did really well on the drive - a little crying here and there, but overall, he was a real trooper. While Darrin, my dad, sister, her boyfriend, and I attended the game, Caleb stayed with my mom and aunt and watched on TV. It was an awesome game and my uncle surprised us with passes to go onto the field to watch warm-ups - INCREDIBLE!!!

Is this boy too cute or what?!?! (I know I'm biased - but look at that face!)
