Big Boy Bed

Well, Caleb finally figured out that he was able to climb out of his crib, so we made the decision to put him in a "big boy bed". As some of you know, I had been dreading this moment, because I was sure that we would be up all night and Caleb would never stay in his bed. Sure enough, I couldn't have been more wrong! Starting the first night, Caleb stayed in his bed AND slept through the night! Even when he's still awake, he will play in his bed, but will not get out of the bed, even though he can. He LOVES his bed and gets so excited when it's time to go "night, night". I think it also has something to do with the bedding! He loves the fact that his pillowcase has a big combine on it.

Halloween 2010

We decided that Caleb was ready to try Trick-or-Treating this year for Halloween. He was a fireman and had so much fun getting "nanny" as he called it. Once he figured out that when he went to people's houses, they gave him candy, he was on a mission. Once we finished with one house he would say "more", "nanny". Of course, we also had to stop after every couple of houses to check out what we had gotten and get a little sugar fix! We figured we would just be out for a short time, but Caleb kept right on going. We walked about a mile!

Pumpkin Carving

Caleb got the chance to carve pumpkins twice this year. First at our church and then at my parent's house. He was much more interested in it this year than last year. He enjoyed helping carve with the little knives, but preferred to watch when it came to removing the goop and seeds.

Growing...

Wow! What happened to our baby?!?! People used to always tell me that kids grow up in the blink of an eye....I never really understood that until I had Caleb. He is such a little boy now and no longer a baby and it seems like just yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital. He is growing taller now rather than heavier. He has stayed at a steady 29 pounds, but is very tall for his age. Most people guess him to be 3 years old and are always shocked when they find out he isn't even 2 yet. He is working on potty training and even did both of his jobs on the potty at the sitter's the other day. He is feeding himself using utensils independently and is starting to put two words together. Of course, his favorite words are still tractor and combine. He did learn a new word on his own the other day and uses is appropriately - plow! Such a little farm boy! He has also discovered John Deere DVD's. He has never been interested in watching TV until one day when I put in a John Deere kids DVD, and he sat and watched for about 40 minutes! That's the longest he has EVER sat for anything! One of his favorite things to do is play outside. He recently discovered raking leaves and jumping in piles of leaves. I can't wait to see what he does in the snow! He has really enjoyed this fall with the harvest and getting to see all of the combines and tractors in the fields. He rode on the tractor with his Uncle Pat several times during harvest and rode on the combine with Darrin.

Mmmmm, how we love to eat!

We got a pile of stone, and Caleb had a ball playing in it

Family Visit

The Roberts' Family was able to come for a visit this fall, and we got to spend a wonderful long weekend with them. While Darrin's dad got to go on the road with him, Caleb and I hit the park with Grandma Deanna and Aunt Kim. It was the first time Caleb walked the trails at Cool Creek Park, and he out-walked us all! He walked/ran the trail loop that circles the park. He also learned how to throw rocks into the creek. We also made a trip to the Pumpkin Patch, where we got to go on a hay ride and pick out pumpkins.
